We ARE HERE

Visionary Leadership Award Cohort

The WeAreHere Visionary Leadership Award brings together campus leaders from across the country committed to ending sexual violence through arts-based and restorative practices. Past participating campuses represent a cross-section of our nation, from San Diego State to Georgetown University and from the University of Texas to the University of Michigan. Visionaries are chosen through a nomination and interview process and, if selected, represent their campuses for the entire calendar year. The Visionary cohort participates in monthly online gatherings with other campus leaders and nationally renowned activists in this sphere. Throughout the year, each Visionary completes two arts-based projects on their campus, inviting a wider and diverse range of stakeholders into the conversation.

SPRING Campus Engagement: WeAreHere Community Reading & Conversation

In the month of April, each Visionary organizes a public reading of the WeAreHere Story Cycle and facilitates a post-reading restorative conversation. These stories bring forward voices of sexual violence stakeholders on campus, from survivors to Greek life to wellness staff.

FALL Campus Engagement: WeAreHere Vision Wall

Building off of the WeAreHere Community Reading & Conversation, each Visionary organizes an interactive visual art installation in a strategic location on campus. The Vision Wall poses the question “Imagine a World Without Sexual Violence - What’s Different?” and invites passers-by to share their response on post-it notes throughout the month of October.
